"An album completed the summer before I went off to college, this album supplies a surprisingly extensive and colorful account of my mental processes all through high school. It's not a rock opera (thank goodness), but it is a 'suite' of sorts. Some of the music reflects my obsession with Steve Reich at the time... but it is still very much rock music. The "hits" off the album are Breaking Free and The Places We Belong... The former got up to number 5 on the indie charts at http://www.soundclick.com (I really doubt that means much, but it was fun, yah?). The latter is a goofy graduation song of sorts... bittersweetness. I really like Far and Wide a lot!"

RED RIVER BLUE UPDATE, ALL YOUR SUMMER SONGS EP 30 july 2007 Pretty All Right Records is happy to announce that "Red River Blue," the full-length debut from They Were Thieves, has been shipped out to be manufactured. This means that we all can have our hands on a shiny copy come September. The album will also be available via iTunes. Special thanks to Adam Irrer, Evan Dawson, Rebekah Haveman, and Steve Reinmuth, for their help in designing and completing the artwork. Check back for an official release date, as well as information on the CD release party(s). In the meantime, we have decided to make the "All Your Summer Songs" EP available to download as a free podcast. This EP was put together by the Thieves in Summer, 2006. THEY WERE THIEVES FULL-LENGTH COMING SOON 29 june 2007 They Were Thieves will soon release their debut album entitled "Red River Blue." It will be Pretty All Right's third official release, and will mark the first full-length release. The album consists of ten songs recorded during the last year.
